In 1987 I created a new corporate image for the Iron Trades Insurance
Group, at that time one of the top twenty insurance companies in the
UK. With a history of commercial insurance dating back over a century
to the shipyards and metal foundries of industrial Great Britain, they
wanted a strong, British image with an up-to-date feel. The new logo
created a partial Union Jack out of the letters I T and found instant
favour amongst the company's management. The new design was duly implemented
on stationery, buildings, promotional items and across a raft of over
300 forms. We also produced a Design Manual as the company had thirteen
offices nationwide and many procurers of local design work who needed
to be 'on song' with the new image. Iron Trades continued to use this
corporate image unchanged until it was taken over in 2002 - a testament
to the longevity of a well thought-out corporate image. |
